Direct Support Professional Certification (DSP-Certified)

Students who have received Direct Support Professional certification from the National Alliance for Direct Support Professionals have the option to request prior learning credit by submitting documentation of passing the Direct Support Professional certification exam and writing a training essay that addresses the following question: What did you learn from this training, and how have you used it in your practice? You must demonstrate a minimum of 8 out of the 15 Direct Support Professional competencies to receive 4 lower-level credits in Supporting People with Disabilities. Students who have completed the Department of Labor Registered Apprentice program and received NADSP certification will be exempt from the training essay, and should use the Workplace Training (GSC-Evaluated) option to request credit after submitting the GSC application for admission.
